Who We Are

Nick headshot large.jpg

Nick Wauters

Born and raised on the French-speaking side of Belgium, Wauters moved to the U.S. after high school to attend Oberlin College before his mentor and fellow Oberlin alumnus, Jim Burrows (Friends, Will & Grace), offered him his first Hollywood job as a

production assistant.

His experience working in various capacities behind the scenes (production coordinator, production manager) have given him a deep understanding of the demands of the production process, while his extensive work as a producer/offline editor on documentaries and cinéma-vérité series helped him sharpen his skills as a storyteller, as he describes editing as “writing with pictures” -- skills that came in handy in his writing and directing careers.

Wauters got his start as a filmmaker writing and directing several award-winning short films, including the Stephen King short, Rainy Season, and the short film/backdoor pilot, Ryan’s Life. This led to writing for a variety of primetime shows, including Medium, The 4400, Eureka, and The Vampire Diaries. He also created the high-profile, high-octane NBC/Universal series, The Event.

While taking a break from Hollywood to return to his indie roots, he wrote/produced/directed a post-apocalyptic feature/backdoor pilot titled

Shangri-La: Near Extinction.

Wauters later jumped back into the studio system, refocusing on development while also consulting on various international series, including several Asian projects in Jakarta, Beijing, and most recently Singapore, working with Warner Bros. Discovery Asia (formerly HBO Asia).

Though he is best known for his work in the science-fiction/supernatural, action, and thriller genres, he is equally comfortable working on light-hearted dramedies and character-driven dramas, and with the help and support of his manager, Greg Weiss

(Wonder Street Entertainment), he has been broadening his writing horizons and is currently developing a variety of new projects.

He is also a fan of graphic novels and Belgian chocolates and hates the sound of people touching balloons.

Ewan Chung

Director of Development

ewan@manonthemoonproductions.com

Born and raised in the Washington, DC/Virginia metro area, Ewan Chung is a veteran of the stage, numerous hit television shows, web series, and film. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and French, he also lends his vocal talents and language skills for singing, narrating audiobooks, dubbing Asian Netflix shows/movies into English, Chinese voiceover commercials for the American Chinese market, and fictional podcasts.

All this has enabled Ewan to have a discerning eye for spotting diamond-in-the-rough projects or to develop fresh, creative concepts for Man On The Moon.

He loves feeding his brain by learning about languages and playing Wordle and probably knows too many random, esoteric facts.
